Naturally we start the day with Arthur Goldstuck, his annual research announcements and most importantly his astute insights, if anyone can gaze into the crystal social media ball for 2019 it’s him. And two high powered panel debates will focus on the big 6 platforms, making comments about the research findings and about the important current announcements from the big 6 for 2019.
Then there’s the “ethics” initiative, to protect the consumer from fake news, pornography and much more. Led by IAB and ASA, much expanded Social Media Guidelines will be announced and after a consultative period will form an enforceable part of the Advertising Code of Practice. Your opportunity to ask the authors to explain the guideline parameters, and our objective is to radically enhance the standing of brand social media communications, it’s an important initiative.
Oh yes, messaging is hot and the platforms are fiercely competing, who’s likely to come out on top and WHY.
Then we turn to the contentious subject of influencers, on the negative side non-disclosed payments, on the positive side how to work with them to optimise their influence. And, talking about influence, who are the most influential bloggers in SA. And how do they entertain and intellectually persuade their target communities.
There you are, meet #SML2018 and 19 social media gurus who between them know it all!
“All work and no play”, that’s why a whole series of Tweet competitions throughout the day with lots of prizes. It’s an intense series of briefings which will profoundly influence your thinking for 2019, so let’s have some fun as well.
