Achieving genuine success - building seven forms of wealth
Henley Breakfast with Alan Hosking: Achieving genuine success - building seven forms of wealth.

Too many people believe that financial success is the only and best form of success. That is a very narrow and inferior view of success. This presentation looks at how to avoid settling for a superficial version of success and achieving a deep and meaningful success by focusing on building seven forms of wealth instead of only one.

ALAN HOSKING has dedicated his career to the development of people in all walks of life and across four generations. A Psychology and English graduate with a Post Graduate Higher Education Diploma, Alan started his career in the education sector, moved into training in the corporate world and then into private enterprise as a publisher.

A multitalented person, Alan's roles embrace magazine publisher, author, editor, mentor, coach, trainer, public speaker, trend spotter and musician.

Alan is the founder and head of Osgard Media, a new generation, multimedia publishing house, and a multiple award-winning Publisher, having won five prestigious Pica Awards from the Magazine Publishers Association of South Africa. In 2011, he received a Meritorious Award from the Association of Mine Human Resource Practitioners for outstanding contribution in service of the interests of the South African Mining Industry.

Alan is the Publisher of HR Future, a global human strategy magazine (www.hrfuture.net), and has previously been a Contributing Editor for two UK-based international HR magazines, as well as a regular contributor to three national parenting magazines in South Africa. Five years ago he and his team were tasked by the Nelson Mandela Foundation with the redesign and relaunch of former President Nelson Mandela's personal website, nelsonmandela.org.

Alan is a member of the Advisory Board of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Business School in Port Elizabeth, and a Judge for the annual Avusa Recruitment Awards.

He is a regular speaker on business platforms, and appears on national radio and television from time to time, both in his capacity as a leadership trend spotter and as a parenting authority - he is the author of a best-seller parenting book, What nobody tells a new father, which has sold 77,000 copies, and facilitates parenting programmes for new and experienced parents in the workplace as well as after hours at selected ante-natal classes.
