Project Management: Principles and Practices
The goal of the Project Management: Principles and Practices Programme is to develop management skills based on internationally accepted principles of project management in the Southern African context. For that reason, several aspects of the PMBOK standards and PRINCE2® methodology are included. Rather than focussing on any specific industry, the programme presents generic project management for all sectors of business and government.
The programme is aimed at middle to senior managers who need to launch or manage projects.
What does it cover
The participant will be able to integrate the learning outcomes in order to develop and manage a project plan whereby a specific team produces an identified, once-off, substantial deliverable, within specified time, cost and performance targets.
Presentations methods include group work and case studies, and individual and group participation are important components of the programme structure. The following subject areas are covered:
- Orientation to project management and project planning
- The formulation of the scope of a project
- Time management for projects
- Project monitoring and control
Please note: In order to keep the structure and content of this programme relevant it is subject to changes.
