Economic Insights 2.0: Power, Production, People

To industrialise South Africa, to revive the once robust manufacturing sector, tourism, agriculture, and other large contributors to GDP, will require all stakeholders to collaborate and find solutions. Government and regulators must create a conducive environment, expedite the removal of barriers that stall investment and growth.

In a post-pandemic world, the disruption to global supply chains presents an opportunity to stimulate local production. Industrialisation, infrastructure, manufacturing, and tourism are all labour intensive, having the potential to reduce chronic unemployment.

Key to achieving this is increasing energy availability levels which currently cannot meet demand even within a weakened economy. It is imperative that we get this right.

Join our panel of experts and industry leaders as we discuss and debate our economic prospects.
