In the increasingly turbulent and competitive environment faced by 21st century firms, leaders need to be exceptional. Traditional managerial leadership is no longer sufficient – leaders need to be outstanding communicators and team-builders. Leadership Skills for the 21st Century will help you become an inspiring, forward-thinking leader.

Target Audience

This programme is geared towards middle and senior managers who want to secure a competitive edge for their organisation by improving their leadership and implementing best 21st century leadership practices. Lead your team and organisation to success.

Admission Requirements

Applicants should have Matric / NQF level 4 in place and be proficient in English. A Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process could be considered if an applicant is not in possession of the required qualification.


The total programme duration is five (5) days / forty (40) contact hours.

Programme Outcomes

  • Understand the challenge of leading from a middle manager position
  • Explore how the changing workplace has influenced leadership theory
  • Develop insight into a range of leadership theories, with a specific focus on a select few
  • Be able to differentiate between linear and organic leadership
  • Explore the concept of leadership as connection, and examine what this means at the level of self, others and the broader environment
  • Understand change processes and the importance of becoming aware as the starting point of change
  • Utilise the concepts of vulnerability, diversity and business success as entry points to understanding the various levels of connection
  • Develop a personal leadership brand through interacting with the underlying theory
  • Build personal persuasiveness
